IRS extends filing deadline to July 15 due to Corona Virus

IRS extends deadline to file and pay to July 15

  • The IRS has moved the national income tax filing deadline to July 15, three months after the normal deadline of April 15 for Americans to file their returns.
Steve Mnuchin was quoted saying that President Donald Trump will give "all taxpayers and business the additional time" to file returns and make the required payments "without interest or penalties." This move to extend the filing deadline is the latest in a series of emergency measures to deal with the Coronavirus pandemic.

"At @realDonaldTrump's direction direction, we are moving tax day from April 15 to July 15. All taxpayers and business will have this additional time to file and make payments without interest or penalties."

It is our belief the government is trying to help the people that need it the most and giving them a reprieve during these difficult times. As of March 6, the Internal Revenue Service had received 67.9 million indivial income tax reutrns and issued 52.7 million refunds. The average check issued was $3,012.
